So my friends really wanted me to have a space on my blog to post recipes, so I added it. I didn't do anything with the tab right away, but I wanted to post my first favorite recipe. It's great for the summer! I also thought this was like an old family secret recipe lol, but apparently it's a cooks.com favorite too!
Lemon Lime Refrigerator Cake
Ingredients
A boxed lemon cake mix
1 package of lime Jello(regular sized package, not a big one)
1 package lemon pudding(again, a regular sized package)
1 packet of Dream Whip whipped topping(this is found in the baking isle and is usually sold in a box of 2. You only need one of the two packets for this recipe)
1 3/4 cups water
1 1/2 cups cold milk
Directions
Bake the lemon cake according to directions on the box(use a 9x13 pan). While the cake is baking, mix 3/4 cup boiling water with the lime Jello. Stir until dissolved. Add in 1 cup of cold water and mix. Set aside until it is room temperature(by the time the cake has cooled, it will be room temperature).
When the cake is done, let cool for 20 minutes. Use a fork or the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes in the cake. Pour the lime Jello over the cake, filling in the holes. Refrigerate the cake while you make the topping.
Mix the lemon pudding, Dream Whip and 1 1/2 cups cold milk in a bowl. I use an electirc mixer and mix until get gets thick. Frost the cake with the pudding mixture and refrigerate for a few hours for it to get nice and cold!
This is a family favorite, especially in the Summertime! I hope you guys like it too!
Greek Spaghetti
Ingredients
2 cans of chicken broth
Minced garlic(I buy the jars of it and just dump garlic in, so I have no measurement for this!)
Garlic olive oil or regular olive oil. You can also use butter.
Angel hair spaghetti
Garlic Powder
Feta cheese
Directions
Boil the 2 cans of chicken broth and some water in a pot with the miced garlic(dump in as much as you want), garlic/oliveoil/butter(again, I just dump some in) and a little garlic powder. Cook until boiling and then add the angel hair spaghetti. Cook based off directions on the box. When done, strain, but dont rinse. Add back to pan and dump garlic oil/olive oil/butter in until you get a nice coating over the spaghetti. I always top with more garic powder and feta cheese! In Greek restaraunts they serve it with tomatoes too!
If you love garlic, then you will love it! If you hate garlic, then please do not make this lol!
